Rearing Butterflies

Fun for all ages

It is very exciting to watch larvae (caterpillars) preparing to pupate or to see a new butterfly emerging from its pupa.

These events are rarely seen in nature, however you can watch this amazing process at home very easily.
All it takes are a few items your bound to have at home and an egg or some larvae.

The best way to find butterfly eggs, is to look for a female butterfly laying an egg.

To find larvae you will need to know which food-plants to search.  Once you know which plants to search on, look for leaves that have been eaten, there could be a hungry caterpillar munching away nearby.

If you would like to find out more -  get a copy of the book where there is a bonus chapter all about rearing your own butterflies.
